Who here thinks that ATONEMENT should have won best picture back then?
to refresh your mind, the other nominees back from 2008 was, juno, no country for old men, there will be blood and michael clayton. As you all know No Country won but that film for me, is terrible. (I did understand the meaning of the dull ending but still, Atonement should have won)

I mean Atonement, i think is the most emotionally, cinematic, impacting film of all the nominees. and it became very underrated because i think this should have won.

The cinematography in this movie is impeccable but i was utterly disappointed that the murky There Will be Blood took home the trophy for achievement in cinematography.

Though i think Atonement did not win best picture but Joe Wright shoud have been nominated in the first place.

It certainly was / is a well-made film. The acting and photography are superb, but I didn’t like the story very much, and the ending filled me with anger!

All of that story was a lie made up to make money, for as Briony asks at the end, "Who would ever buy a story that ended as her tale really did? What kind of story ends with everyone dying?"

Briony learned NOTHING from her traitorous actions and cruel accusations! She continued to lie, and spent her whole life lying in order to make money. She disgusts me!

It was a powerful film, and perhaps should have won over "No Country …" though I had read the novel from Cormac McCarthy (The Road, etc) and really liked it, so I was inclined to enjoy the film, too.

The only good part about Atonement was knowing that all the characters died in the end…

I’d go for Millers Crossing and the Casino.

The Untouchables doesn’t hit the right notes for me and I’ve never understood the border scene with the rip roaring massacre of the smugglers. Sean Connery is also hard to take seriously for me, and I get a distinct feeling that everything in it has been done before, and better. Case in point being the recycled pram down the stairs.

However when Owen fell, they cut the tape. Fans stayed, some left out of show.

28 Days Later was a GREAT film! It was quite gory, yes, but the plot and characters were well done. It wasnt just about the violence and action, but about the humanity as well. Also I agree with the other posts. Zombieland was hilarious! Definitely a must see along with Shaun of the Dead!

when I was an angsty, goth/emo teenager I thought that Return of the Living Dead 3 was the end all be all movie. I really thought that it was the most romantic piece of cinema I had ever seen! I watched it again recently, and it doesn’t appeal to me any longer. It isn’t scary, and it isn’t a great zombie tale.

Out of the ones you have listed I think that the scariest is 28 Days Later.

We had to describe something, I chose a garden. To get the higher marks we needed to change the mood at some point. Car Problem, can't go below 2500rpm!!!?
Ok, so lets just get some things outta the way. I recently filled up my tank at an untrusted gas station. Afterwards, i started experiencing problems. Its seems now that whenever my car is in gear and below 2500rpm it just gives out. It bogs down and shuts off. And I usually end up having to start it back up, rev it to above 2500rpm and keep it there when I get back in gear. Below is more info:

91 Honda Civic Si
- Have since re-fueled vehicle with trusted gas (non-watered down)
- Added Carb Cleaner but it did nothing.
- Checked air filter and it was good
- NOW has problems initially starting
- Can’t drive below 2500rpm
- Last tune up was about a year ago

Some friends have said its possible that there isn’t enough fuel getting to where it needs to go. And that it could be a bad fuel filter. Any help would be much obliged.

Sounds like water in the gas. Two things you can do. Have the tank drained - very expensive, or get a can of Heet or some kind of fuel stabilizer and add it to the tank. Run it until it is very low on gas and fill up with good high octane gas.

Could also be a problem with the air. I’m going to point my finger at the carburetor. Probably not getting the right fuel/air ratio - causing your engine to croak. When you go full throttle, the blockage or obstruction is negligible compared to the flow of fuel/air.

91 civic, might be time to call it scrap metal… duhno how much you want to invest into a 20year old vehicle.
